at noon. baltimore county police are at stemmers run middle school, where we've learned that an eighth grade student brought a gun to class. 11 news reporter tim tooten is live on the scene with more details. >> some are very tense moments here. the 13-year-old did bring a gun to school at stemmers run middle school, just near eastern boulevard at the exit at 702. we have a video from the scene, and we see parents showing up. they got word by way of a telephone call from the school. it was the heroic efforts of a classroom teacher who knocked the gun out of the students at hand. certainly this comes just about two weeks since the perry hall high school incident, in which a student was shot. we were able to talk with a student who said he was in that class at the time of the incident. >> we were casually sitting in the classroom, and at the student left to go to the bathroom for 20 minutes, and then he came back and he was kind of teared up, and the teacher was like, what's wrong, and that he pulled the gun out, and she was like, put the gun down, put the gun down. he started swinging a

weekend in baltimore carry into this morning as police opened fire on an armed robbery suspect. we began outside city police headquarters. >> no officers were injured. the suspect is in serious, but stable condition at shock trauma and charges are pending against him. this shooting happened about 4:20 this morning. police were called out to yale avenue and potter streets because of our robbery. when officers arrived, they found a suspect matching the description of the suspect. of confrontation started. >> he pulled out a weapon. one of the backup officers that respondents saw the officer and the suspects struggling. he drew his service weapon and shot at least once in defense of that officer. >> police say the suspect was shot in the stomach. he was taken to surgery and is listed in stable, but stable -- serious, but stable condition in shock trauma. the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave. wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. police in baltimore county are investigating a deadly weekend shooting involving one of their officers. police were called for repo

. we will talk more about the forecasts going into the weekend in a few minutes. >> a baltimore city police are investigating two separate shootings were the victims are women. the most recent case happened just after 9:00 in the 400 block of south agusta ave. police say the victim, and 18- year-old woman, was found inside a car with a gunshot wound to the head. south baltimore, police looking for three men in connection with the shooting of a 39 -- 35-year old woman in chair real. we are told she is expected to survive. a four-year old boy is recovering after police say he was shot by his father during a domestic dispute. investigators say the 26-year- old also shot his girlfriend, the boy's mother. we are told it all stems from an argument that turned violent when ford pulled out a gun and shot the couple's son. >> the fact that, first of all, the child was subjected to seeing this alleged abuse and in fact the child was struck, a true tragedy. we thank all closed the case quickly and apprehended the suspect. >> the boy's mother was shot multiple times but she and her son are expec

-weather plus forecast. >> now an update to a story we brought you in breaking news last night. baltimore city police have made an arrest in the double shooting of a mother and her four-year- old sun. police say they have arrested eric ford sr. with connection to the shooting, stemming from a domestic dispute which came to a peak before 9:30 wednesday night in the 900 block of gorsuch avenue. neighbors are surprised by this type of violence in their community. >> not a typical event, really. i have seen police activity, but never caution tape and actual gunfire sort of activity. nothe victims' injuries are considered life-threatening. police are trying to figure out how a man's body ended up in the harbor. the 63-year-old man was found in the 2500 block of boston street in canton. homicide detectives are calling the death suspicious and are awaiting the medical examiner's autopsy report. police in anne arundel county say a mother left her five children alone in an odenton hotel room while she committed a robbery. tameka wright faces charges of robbery and five counts of unintended children. sh

on thursday. it has a congregation of 10,000 people. new at noon, baltimore county police have arrested a suspect in the murder of an elderly couple. and police say they consider matthew a suspect in the death of his grandparents. they suffered a traumatic injury. he has been found on an oklahoma. we are told he is in a local hospital there. baltimore county detectives have traveled to the state and are waiting to interview him. >> baltimore county police are investigating two separate garage fires. about two hours later, there was another fire in a garage. crews are on the scenes of both fires, trying to determine the cause of both places. mandatory meetings where officials have introduced -- introduced a new safety and security plan for teachers and administrators. administrators are learning more about detecting trouble and reporting suspicious activity. the county teachers association welcomes the new measures. >> tomorrow there will be information coming out that will help them not only to understand what their role is, but to help the students understand what their role is. and i
